What you'll get up to

The Oban whisky distillery is world famous, after a tour of their amazing facility and some cheeky tasting we are on our way. Setting off on a four-day wilderness canoe adventure, paddling through the waters of Loch Shiel or Loch Awe.

We teach you the essential canoeing and bushcraft skills you need to master these unique environments. Our expeditions are designed to put you out of your comfort zone and into an unknown world of beauty.

See the sites on offer and incredible views, as we search for wild camping spots on the islands spread all over the Loch. Once we’ve landed, a fire is our first priority, a cup of tea comes first.

After setting up your hammock, tarp or bivi you can settle in around the fire for some well earned drams of local golden whisky. Everyone mucks in, teamwork is the name of the game. Shelter, fire and food prep are all on the list but don’t worry, we will be there to guide you through.

These custom built Scottish Highland canoe expeditions are one of a kind and can only be found with our highly skilled team at Bearded Men Adventures.

A Wild One

Mike R

We’ve just done the 4 day canoeing and whisky tour. 3 nights wild camping, canoeing down the Loch and wild camping for 3 nights.

Jason and Hugh were outstanding. The food was good, provided equipment top notch and the atmosphere brilliant. The route and camp sites were planned with enough flexibility to provide a sense of adventure without feeling like it was all scripted.

The whole expedition was run in a flexible way, with the guys open to ideas and suggestions, keen that we had the best time we could on our adventure.

Cant recommend highly enough.
